Hello, I’m Jess.

I’m here to help you make the most of your time in Oxford!

I offer bespoke walking tours of varied lengths to suit all interests and ages. I’ve lived here for over 25 years and love sharing my enthusiasm for our stunning city’s history and culture, and telling stories about its many eccentric inhabitants. I have a degree in History/English Literature and a Masters in International Relations, and enjoy bringing to life for visitors the social, political and imaginative role that Oxford has played in the history of Britain, and the world.

What I offer:

My own particular interests include Literary Oxford, Radical Oxford and Artistic Oxford including architecture, stained glass and the Pre-Raphaelites. I also lead Ghost Tours, Tolkien/CS Lewis, Alice in Wonderland, Morse/Lewis/Endeavour and Harry Potter tours.

  • Send me a message and let me know when you would like a tour and we will take it from there. You can check my availability here. I mostly run private tours but also run some public tours - check the schedule here.

  • How long would you like?! A standard walking tour of Oxford centre is two hours, including a visit to a college if possible, but I am happy to run shorter or longer tours depending on your needs. I can be booked for a full day and include suggestions for great places to eat and drink as part of the booking.

  • My rates start at £150 for a two-hour private tour. The full cost will depend on the length of tour, and whether it includes entry to a college. Contact me and let me know what you require and I will give you a quote.

I also run public tours that you can buy individual tickets to - check out my upcoming tours page or message me to find out which dates might be possible.

I will need to know in advance so I can book us in, as slots are limited, and I can only take up to 11 people in at a time. It’s only open in the afternoon at weekends, but I can book morning or afternoon slots on weekdays.

  • Absolutely! Just let me know what you’re looking for and I will put together a bespoke itinerary for you.

  • My cancellation policy is set by the British Guild of Tour Guides. If you cancel more than 7 days before the agreed date, there is no charge. If it’s closer to the agreed date, I ask you to pay the following cancellation charges:

    - 50% of the negotiated fee for cancellation 7 days or less before the engagement
    - 100% of the negotiated fee for cancellation within 48 hours of the engagement

  • Yes I can either sell you a voucher for a two-hour private tour on any topic (£150) or you can buy vouchers for my public tours, which I run from time to time for £15 each - these tend to be Radical Oxford tours in the summer and Ghost Tours in the winter. If the recipient of the voucher then contacts me I will arrange with them the best time to do the tour.
