ghost tour of oxford

Follow me down a dark alleyway into Oxford's mysterious and bloody past…

Oxford is one of the most haunted places in Britain, with good reason. It was the murder capital of medieval England, largely due to its extremely badly behaved student population.

I will take you on a tour round the city's most sinister side-streets and baddest back-alleys, where we will hear about the terrible events that have left so many spirits wandering eternally. Burning bishops. Enraged poltergeists. Abandoned lovers. Dark diggers. The devil himself!! All have made their restless presence felt over the centuries and if we're (un)lucky, we might spot one of them tonight - it has happened on my past tours. . .

This tour needs to take place when it's dark, as that's when 'they' come out. It could well be cold, and possibly wet so please dress accordingly. But as we know, all the best ghost stories take place on a dark and stormy night.

reviews

  • Children from 10 upwards have been on it and loved it but be aware it does contain descriptions of some pretty gory deaths so if you think your child might be disturbed by that it might not be for them. Most of the children I’ve met seem to love the gory stuff most!

  • This tour costs £150 for a private tour. I sometimes run public tours which cost £15 each so email me to tell me you’re interested and I can let you know when the next public tour is running.

  • Up to 20.

  • I tend to run it in the winter when it gets dark earlier, but I could potentially run one for you over the summer, it would just have to start and end quite late!
